• Remote Restart

Is there a way to drop to DOS (WIN 32-bit) and REMOTE RESTART MIS?

I can't seem to locate a command (if it exists).

I am working from "work" remotely via my .php web site proxy and my screen locked up. Since I had this happen before, I stated to allow multiple IPs. My Sysop account does not have a timeout (which I think I'll add after this). When I try to SNOOP or KICK NODE 1 from Drop-To-Dos, it doesn't work. I was installing a game (that only seems to work on NODE1) and I'm sure when I get home the server will have some Windows popup sitting there waiting for me to close.

I was looking for something like MIS -RESTART or MIS -REBOOT I can't run any other DOS commands like REBOOT .. at least linux would maybe let me run a shutdown -r now command.

    Thanks!!!

Related to this -- on Linux, I create a semaphore file from the sysop menu using the "(!C) Create Semaphore" command and "restart.now" in the Data field. I then have a scheduled job (crontab) which looks for that file every minute and, if it exists, deletes it and restarts MIS ('systemctl restart mis').

Perhaps something similar would be possible to schedule using the Task Scheduler in Windows? Calling a CMD/BAT/PS1 script every minute or so...

    Best regards

    Very interesting!

I'll look into it when I get home. I can still use other nodes in the meantime!

    Keep up the good work!!
